Setup guide · Guesty

Connect your Guesty account to Kismet

Create one OAuth application and one Booking Engine API key in Guesty, then send the four values securely to Kismet. It takes about five minutes.

Before you begin

What you will need

You need a Guesty administrator login and your Guesty password, which Guesty asks for when it generates secrets. You control both credentials and can delete them whenever you need.

Guesty admin access

Ask an administrator for help if Developer tools or Distribution is not visible to you.

Four values, pasted as you go

An Open API Client ID and Client Secret, then a Booking Engine Client ID and Client Secret. Each secret is shown only once, so its box is right at the step where you copy it.

1

Start here: who are you?

This page is the key drop. Each value you copy out of Guesty has its own box at the step where you copy it; paste as you go and press Drop keys once at the end. Fill in your email and company first.

Prefer one form in a second window? Open the full key drop in a new tab.

2

Open Guesty

In another tab, sign in at app.guesty.com with an administrator account.

3

Create the Kismet OAuth application

In the left sidebar, go to Integrations Developer toolsOAuth applications. Click New application, name it Kismet, set the description to Commerce platform, and click Save.

Older Guesty layouts show the same screen under your account icon → Open APIApplications.

4

Generate the Open API secrets and paste them here

Click Generate new secrets and enter your Guesty password. Copy the Client ID into the first box and the Client Secret into the second.

Paste the Client Secret before you leave the Guesty page. Guesty hides it afterwards. If you lose it, generate new secrets and paste the new pair.

5

Create the Booking Engine API key

Back in Guesty, hover Growth in the top navigation → Distribution, then open the Booking Engine API tile. Click Create a new API key. Name it Kismet, choose Both request to book and instant book, select every listing you want Kismet to show, and click Save.

Prefer inquiry-only or instant-only? That works too. Tell us which one you selected.

6

Show the API tokens and paste them here

Next to the new key, click Show API tokens. Copy this Client ID into the first box and this Client Secret into the second. They are different from the pair in step 4.

Do not use a Marketplace key. Marketplace keys expire four hours after they are generated and will not connect.

7

Drop the keys

Four boxes filled? Press the button. Please do not email the values.

Our team is notified the moment you submit. A second Guesty account (for example a sub-account) needs its own four values: repeat this guide for it.

Security notes

Keep control of your credentials

Please do not email your Client Secrets. Paste them into the encrypted Kismet key drop instead.

Kismet stores your credentials encrypted, so they are not held as readable text.

Delete the Kismet application or API key in Guesty at any time to revoke access immediately.

Credentials ready? Drop them and you’re done.
